Will it really work?

We would like to say that our games run on all Android phones. Unfortunately we can't - those guys keep bringing phones out faster than we can buy them! However, we can say that we have played games successfully on phones from HTC, Samsung, Motorola, T-Mobile and Google. We have also checked games on Android V1.6 and V2.1.

The main thing to check when buying a phone for location-based gaming is that they have a good GPS component on board. Our HTC Heros and our base model - the T Mobile Pulse Mini - both report accuracy down to 4 meters which is perfectly good for everything that we do.

If you want to check the accuracy, and have a really useful utility into the bargain, then we would really recommend GPS Status - free from the Android store.

Incidentally, one reason why we are not working with the iPhone at present is that the GPS is not good enough. It will just about work with our Treasure Hunt, but it's still not that good.
