Previously at LocoMatrix, we have been buying the top quality BlueNext BN905GR from Qfonic. This is a compact unit with long battery life and quick to fix to position. It will work well even in your bag or pocket. This unit is the one shown on the home page.

The GPS units used in the Gadget Show were kindly lent by EasyDevices. They are Globalsat Bluetooth BT368 at £45.99 inc Vat. Even if you have your eyes on a nice new GPS-enabled phone, you might consider having a separate unit. Why? Greater accuracy and longer battery life for both your phone and your GPS unit. Some GPS units you can even put your pocket once it has obtained its first fix.

*** We have just bought one and it works (not yet compared with our existing units, but were impressed with time to lock on). A couple of points to note. The unit came with a car charger only, but we were able to charge ours with an older-style Nokia charger. Also the advertised software came on an SD card. Our N73 test unit has a microSD so we are, as yet, not able to try out the other advertised features. However at £14.95 there is not reason not to get started with LocoMatrix.
